There is one weekend every year in New York when we are encouraged to embrace our inner nerd and it is totally acceptable and normal to see herds of people walking the street in Cosplay costumes.  I am not talking about Halloween.  I'm talking about COMIC CON!!! My friend Mella and I stepped out as Ash Ketchum and Pikachu for our 3rd year.  You have no idea how many times we got stopped to be photographed.  Another great thing about Comic Con is that a lot of people (including us) DIY our costumes.  We made ours with various items from thrift shops and discount stores and added fancy accents (True Religion jeans in my case, and Doc Marten boots in Mella's case).  One BAD  thing about Comic Con is the smell.  Some people are in huge get-ups and things get sweaty and stinky!  Luckily, I had the luxe new Tom Ford Black Orchid perfume to stay smelling like a citrusy-fruity Pokemon trainer! Yummmmm.
