I've been looking at all the looks from the latest Spring 2014 couture shows, waiting for something to come along and make me fall in love so deeply and take me so off guard that I spit my tea out a little bit. Alas, Elie Saab.
After viewing this collection over and over (and over) again, I have officially added "Wear an Elie Saab dress" to my bucket list. These dresses are what Disney Princesses would dream of if they were a little more into haute couture and a bit more sexy. Beautiful color palette, beautiful silhouettes, and beautiful fabrication. Not to mention, there are a few white dresses that I had to stop and stare at and imagine how amazing they would be to wear to my wedding. This says a lot, as I am not one of those girls who fantasizes about her wedding way before she has ever even had a serious relationship.
This one reminds me of the high fashion Sleeping Beauty. Not familiar with the princess? See here. The off the shoulder cut and perfectly draped A-Line bottom scream Aurora. Now where is this lovely model's Prince Philip?
We know I'm a sucker for black. Make it a black ball gown, and I'm officially head over heels. This dress is the perfect combination of ladylike and edgy. Also, I love how it looks paired with the demure, simple hair style.
Sheer. Black. Floral embellishments. Check, check, check. Another edgy number from the collection that I'm obsessed with. The skirt of the dress falls so beautifully, and the embellishments cover all the right spots.
So this is what I'm talking about when I'm talking dream wedding dress. The cut is absolutely divine, and the embellishments make this dress anything but ordinary. For a fashionista's wedding, her walk down the aisle better feel like a walk down the runway!
SO MUCH GOING ON HERE. Elie Saab has combined a high slit, a peplum, and a single sleeve. On paper in words, this dress sounds like it could be a disaster. Against all odds, it is BEAUTIFUL. Class, elegant, and innovative, this dress will be a force to be reckoned with.
Here we go again with embellishments that cover just the right amount of skin for a dress that is so sexy while remaining so sophisticated. It reminds me of fairies and springtime in the absolute best way possible.
