One of my least favorite things about winter is that I have to wear my huge parka to keep warm... and it isn't the most chic looking thing.  So, inspired by all the layering I'm seeing in the FW14 NYFW shows, I decided to give the look a go myself.  I layered a cropped leather jacket over my peacoat and sparkly pink leggings for a cute and fun look that triumphs over my puffy parka any day.

If you want to try out the layered look but don't want it to look too overdone, I suggest layering with the same or similar colors to keep that part simple.  Of course, black is always a good option.  Add matching shoes and beanie to tie it all together! Layer some necklaces, too, while you're at it! ;)
