When things get hectic in New York -and they often do- it's important to take a step back (or many, many steps up to the roof of a building) to appreciate the city for what it is - the most beautiful catastrophe that anyone has ever seen. I am so lucky to live here in this city. I'd rather feel like a madman here than feel like one anywhere else. My friends that live in Boston tell me that Boston is like a smaller, cleaner, friendlier version of Manhattan. To that I reply, "Well, who would want that?"
