Hotdogs, Slurpees, & Topshop Dresses

This post was originally going to be depressing, about how my 20th year wasn't the greatest at all, how it started off badly right off the bat at midnight and how I'm really not as excited about turning 21 as I should be. I usually don't like my birthday.

But you know what? This year I did. First thing in the morning, a coworker got me a chai tea latte from Starbucks. I got to take a half day at work, which gave me time to take myself out to a delicious lunch on the Upper East Side and shopping in SoHo. I found a perfect dress to wear out for my party, and a necklace that I had been lusting over for a while was on sale for 75% off. When I made my way to 7-11 for my free slurpee, THERE ACTUALLY WAS SLURPEE LEFT! For dinner, I threw on my new party dress and my sister and I went to Crif Dog, aka the best hot dog place in NYC. I'd rather their Chihuahua Dog (avocado, sour cream, and bacon) and tots than a filet mignon from a fancy restaurant any day- even my birthday! At night, I went out with a bunch of friends and we had a blast.

In the cab on the way home, Iggy Azalea came on the radio and as I listened and watched the city go by out the open window, I was so grateful. I couldn't believe for once on a birthday, almost everything was working in my favor. How could it be?! I guess 21 will indeed be better than 20.
