Last First Day of School

Where in the world has time gone? Today was my last first day of school. This semester is going to be my last semester of college at FIT. I'm super excited to get into my classes and to be back with all my school friends who were gone for the summer, but the thought that this is my last semester is terrifying! It feels like just yesterday I was just starting college, and now today marks the beginning of the end. Then, I enter the real world. Scary stuff! For those of you who are going back to school soon, here are some tips for the perfect back to school outfit.

1. Wear something new, but not too new. At the beginning of a school year, of course you want to wear something fresh. But if you wear something that's a little too out of your comfort zone, you're going to feel awkward and you won't be able to pay attention in class (and we know how hard that is to do in the first place sometimes). For this look, my "something new" was the strappy bra that my friend Mella gave me! It's crazy how much it updates my simple dress.

2. First impressions matter - so be yourself. Dress presentable- you don't want your professor to think you're a slob! But at the same time, don't go all out and wear a blazer and heels unless that's really your style!

3. Wear something comfortable. Sometimes we get nervous for first days. I know I get tummy aches! So it's best to wear something that isn't super constricting on your body. You want to feel comfortable sitting in a desk and walking from class to class!

4. Have a conversation starting piece on you. On the first day of class, people are usually shy unless they have friends that they already know in the class. It's nice to have something on (in my case, my pink Doc Martens) that people will notice and strike up a conversation. These boots were a hit!

5. Be confident in what you're wearing. The more confident you feel, the better you will look. Now go get 'em!
